Tea Party

Grab your hat,

your best purse,

and your gloves.

We are headed to the annual church TEA PARTY!

Now, you must know, these are no ordinary purse & gloves...these are very special.  A dear friend, Grandma Dot, passed away last year at the age of 96.  She worked in the church nursery holding my babes up until the very end of her beautiful life.

Here she is with my kiddos on her 96th birthday.
She was a friend who loved my children, took care of them, and taught them about Jesus.  Annie adored her &  after she went to heaven, her daughters honored Annie with Grandma Dot's purse and some of her little gloves.  We feel truly blessed to have a little piece of her.

Annie treasures the purse & gloves since they remind her of Grandma Dot and they were just perfect for this special occasion!

We stopped to pick up Auntie Cake's Nature Girl.  Cousins are a girl's best friend.

When we arrived at church, Annie made the rounds, to collect hugs & kisses from friends.

Grandma Lorraine has taken care of Annie in the nursery since she was a newborn, while I go to Bible Study and many Sunday mornings.
Miss Ruthie is one of Grandma Dot's daughters and loved seeing her purse and gloves.  It was the first tea party without Grandma Dot & she was missed very much!

Annie loves hanging with the teenagers.
They are pretty sweet...they actually let her.

Nature Girl set our table with her very own China.  She got the whole set at a garage sale for only 1$...I would say she did pretty good!

Cousin Zadie was all dressed up too!
Nana (my mom)

Annie put in 5 sugar cubes, cream, a honey stir stick, and lemon.

It was a three course tea...but we all loved the dessert bests!
Thanks for joining us!

Oh QUITE the tea party and QUITE the eloquent Annie.
"Nature Girl's" china looks like it could be a Homer Laughlin pattern? Such a beautiful tea setting and how nice that all generations enjoyed it together.
