We live 20 minutes from
THE MALL OF AMERICA.
Just for fun we thought we would give the kids a treat & take them to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner.
I was delighted when they brought us to what I considered the best seats in the house...right under ths gorillas.
This guy was right over our table.
Annie, loved it.
Rocco was not so sure.
Bo took one look at him & SCREAMED!!!!
And I mean a terrified scream!
Kelly ( my husband) grabbed Bo & put him on his lap.
Bo calmed down eventually, but then he noticed this guy above us on the other side:
Okay...that did him in.
He wouldn't eat one bite & sat most of the time like this:
Then, of course the people next to us get a dessert with a sparkler in it & it freak him out some more.
Kelly took Bo out after about 20 minutes of sheer horror.
Good thing he did because when we left we were greeted with this:
I am afraid he might have had a heart attack!
The rest of us had a good night but it will be a while until we venture back...
...into the rainforest :)
I hope you have room at your house, because now I know where I'm staying when I trek north this fall to visit the Mall of America! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a great time! I've been to the Rainforest Cafe in Nashville and Orlando, and I love it! Looks like I'll be adding Minnesota to my list!
Poor little Bo! I hope he got to have some dinner in the "safety" of his own home!
ReplyDeleteI do believe that everything must be an adventure in your family!
poor little guy...just proves that malls can be torture...at least for Bo.
ReplyDeletebunny
The MALL OF AMERICA you say!!!! When can I come visit????
ReplyDeleteWe've visited the Rainforest café in Toronto. I still have two large, orange mugs to remind me of that great place.I totally understand Bo's fear of that big scary monkey, i was scared too! xx
ReplyDeleteMan you crack me up. Your kids are the cutest, funniest kids ever. Jacob probably would have freaked out when he was younger, but now he would put on the brave face. You can always tell when he is trying to be tough though because he blinks about 1000 times a minute with this funny little smile on his face. Seriously, your kids are getting cuter as they get older. Thank you for coming to visit us at 3 sisters. Your comments are one of the highlights of having the blog. Have a great rest of your week.

Awww poor Bo, how was the night after you put him to bed? I'm thinking those gorillas might have crept into his dreams! Too funny that after seeing those you can't even escape to the outside without having an encounter with a shark! Actually they do look pretty scary, I would have probably had to leave too! Theresa
ReplyDeletePoor Bo.... Did they move too? He is never going to want to go to that place again. Its funny how children can be so different at different ages. Next year you will probably be able to go and he will love it.
ReplyDelete*hugs*
Debbie
I feel bad for giggling at his fright, but it's just so cute and funny!
ReplyDeleteI've had the same experience there! Thought my kids would love it, but they were hiding under the table the whole time because of the "thunderstorms"! Oh well, at least we had good intentions, right?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for poor Bo, but really, thank you for the laugh this morning! :-) love ya Lib!Dawn R
ReplyDeleteOh, poor, sweet Bo. I am sorry he did not enjoy the rain forest. Maybe when he gets a little older another trip to the mall and rain forest will be fun for all. The pictures are adorable. Your Annie just shines with fun and happiness, her smile is priceless. Adorable children. Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh no...I can so relate to poor Bo....my youngest one would of done the samething at that age...things still freak her out!!! Your images say it all. Hugs. xoxox
ReplyDeleteThe best laid plans... ;)
ReplyDeleteJust imagine if you brought Isaiah along!
ahahah poor little Bo,he was so scare!! I didn't know the rainforest cafè,I've never seen one before! It looks so cool!Pictures are lovely as always dear friend and your family is super cute!
ReplyDeleteBest regards from Italy!
Xoxo
Poor thing. I hope that your next visit is not so scary to him. My kids love that place.
ReplyDeleteHi Libbie,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Stacey. You make me laugh too - with relief. I am so glad that you have the same funny moments with your kids. Wish there was a place like that in the UK, or Australia for that matter. Sounds like fun although, I can understand poor Bo's fears!

oh that places looks cool though thanks for finding my blog will follow yours love Rebecca
ReplyDeleteMy nephew had a similar reaction at Rainforest Cafe when we took him a couple years back, and he was 7 or 8 at the time. There's a new restaurant that's very similar (same owners as Rainforest Cafe actually) called T-Rex in Disney World. I imagine it scares the kids even more!
ReplyDeleteOh, Libbie, I remember my son was afraid of them too, when he was little. But never "fear" he became a Marine and policeman. Sorry he didn't enjoy it. ...Blessings**
ReplyDeleteSO, you got at least one smart one in the family---Seems to me one would need to beware of a gorilla hanging over one's table. Nana
ReplyDeletei was in TX for summer hol and the gorilla came in and out when the music started at that rainforest cafe. i can tell how terrified bo was. :(
ReplyDeleteyou've got gorgeous kids and you know it. ;)

(i'm going to follow you in a nice stalkerish way...)
Oh my dear,
ReplyDeleteJust when we think we have a fabulous treat for our babies, things take a tumble...Poor Bo, I'm quite sure this will be a story that will be told, many times over and even Sweet Bo will giggle.
My life has been SO busy these last weeks, I just read the tender comment you left. Dearest, the feeling is COMPLETELY mutual. You and Kate just make me laugh, and that is such a gift...so, right back at you! If you want a good snicker go to http://heavenlyhumor.blogspot.com/ and read "Breakfast at Gingers"...
Have a Sunny Weekend"...and continue spreading your J*O*Y...x0x0...Rosie
Reminds me of when I took my kids on the Pirates of the Carribean ride at Disneyland. I loved it when I was a kid but they've made it scarier with scenes from the movie.
ReplyDeleteThats tragically adorable. :) How can I smile at his horror... but its just so cute!
ReplyDeleteOMG you live 20 minutes from the Mall of America then my son has been near you on business trips. wow..
ReplyDeleteWhat a night you all had. Poor Bo he may never ever go back there to eat again. I can just see Annie wide eyed and loving it.
Please tell Annie that I love her to death for praying for me. That was the best thing I have read since being hurt.
I do miss all of you and will be so glad for this to be over. May and June have always been my favorite months besides Sept and now I have been in bed through out these months.
Funny you wrote a post about being scared because I just posted one about being scared too and then came over here to catch up with you.
Have a great weekend
Love
Maggie
I would be sitting with my shirt over my face too if I was sitting next to that. Poor little cute guy.
ReplyDeleteOh we LOVE that place!!!!!!!!!!!!!
