Today when Annie got home from school she opened the door & yelled, "MOM!!!! There is a huge box out here and it is for me! And there is one for you too!"
I hadn't been expecting a package so I was very curious!
Beth. Beth is a forever friend.
We went to Kindergarten together.
We were in a little charity pageant together.
We tortured neighbor boys together.
I could go on & on & on!!!
And in 3rd grade when she moved...my heart was broken.
But we stayed friends.
The best of friends
And although we don't get a chance to visit each other very often she still finds ways to love up my family.
You should have seen the boxes she sent today!!!
Yes! Those are colored socks in there!!!
Painful. Very Painful :)
But seriously it was like she bought out an entire store
& shipped it to my kids!!!
Not even everything is pictured because 1/2 of it was
already all over my living room!
They were busy smiling, giggling & exploring for HOURS!!!!
Look at this cute little stationary set!
And I have a little glass hen collection & she sent me this!!!
To which Annie said, "Cool! That will be mine soon!"
"Annie, I told you that you can't have my hens until I die."
(She asks me for them all the time.)
"I know."
Great, does anyone else find this a little premature? :)
& also a Fancy Dancy microwavable neck wrap...
...I am trying it out as soon as I am done here!
It had this little note on it:
DO I EVER!!!!
But even I have to admit...
those dreadful colored socks looked adorable on Annie & she needed them for our St. Patrick's Day Birthday Party
(Hi Cal)
we are going to tomorrow.
THANK YOU BETH!!!
We LOVE YOU TOO!!!!
Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!!!
Okay...this girl is gonna be trouble :)
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! This is adorable! What a precious friend in Beth you have. Incredibly thoughtful and that note was hilarious! Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too! Do you know that I am half Irish (and half Italian) and i never really celebrate St Paddy's like I should...so odd. Even my maiden name had Green in it! Crazy! Why am I telling you all this in the comment? I think because I don't have nay green to wear tomorrow. And now I am typing as I think....great post!
ReplyDeleteBeth! You really did by out the store! So sweet!!!
ReplyDelete& looking forward to the colorful socks tomorrow~Cal says Hi back :)
Did you happen to notice that you and Beth have the same handwriting? (And Mrs Tweet would have a thing or two to say about the penmanship.)
ReplyDeleteAnd that was not a charity pageant. That was THE Miss Bloomington pageant! That was so like BIG time...
And how I wish I had had a copy of that pic that last time I saw Jeff. I don't think he remembered that one... It would have been loads of fun to help him remember!!!
What a wonderful friend! It looks like you guys got up to a little bit of mischief in your younger days.....????
ReplyDeleteHope you all enjoy the rest of the week and Happy St Patrick's day!
Best wishes,
Natasha.
Ps I thought the picture with the school bus was of Annie at first-she really looks like you doesn't she!
You have such a great friend! It warms my heart that you stayed friends even after she moved in the 3rd grade. Now that is special.
ReplyDeleteAND that is quite the loot for the kiddos!
Holy cow, looking at those old pics of you, I can safely say that Annie truly is a Mini-Me, isn't she? :-)
ReplyDeleteOr rather, I should have said a "Mini'You". ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnnie looks just like you!!! How adorable! And what a wonderful friend you have. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my darling...What a precious friendship. The last school reunion we had (10, 20, 30...oh I don't know I lost count along time ago :)) I found it wasn't the high school friends that I gravitated to, it was my elementary chums that captured my heart, all over again. (hmmm bit of a run on sentence me thinks) Kisses and hugs to all those little blessings He has gifted you with...love Rosie
ReplyDeleteOh that would just be a dream, to see you, your sis and your mom walk through the doors of my little shop...someday maybe. I just realized your a Minnesota girl :) I have a dear friend in Anita from "Castles, Crowns and Cottages" who is also a Minnesota lovely...so it may be the other way around...someday maybe...:)
