One reason it has been a little quite on my blog is that we took a road trip!
A 24 hour road trip.
A 24 hour road trip.
No, we were not gone for 24 hours, we were in the car 24 hours...one way...
Yes...we are all still alive.
3 hours into the ride Bo started crying & howling,
"My buns hurt! My buns are bleeding!"
& I got very worried because we had a looooong way to go & here Bo might need a bun operation. But after a little beach towel repairs on his car seat, his buns recovered & we had a rather peaceful, long, trip to the gulf coast of Alabama.
We traveled with my family, my whole family...
and we had a blast!!!
Cruising with the dolphins,
Running on the beach,
Flying with the Blue Angels,
Splashing in the waves,
Running on the beach,
Enjoying their first foam party :),
Laying on the beach,
Souvenir shopping,
Ferris Wheel riding,
& sand castle building.
Did I mention running on the beach?
No...he never stopped :)
We laughed a ton.
and at Zadie on the go carts.
& even a little giggle over her hair:)
you didn't even KNOW I was so mean!
I just couldn't resist.
(Dear Lord, Please do NOT let this beautiful woman read my blog.)
We took LOTS of pictures:
And between EVERY SHOT I'd hear,
"We got a runner!"
and Kel would have to drag Rocco back for the next shot.
It looks like I love Annie the best but actually...
...she is the only one who would cooperate.
Mostly, it was just fun watching the kids enjoying themselves
and falling in love with the ocean,
Even if it did sting to get salt in your eye.
We had so much fun that when the week was done
we actually decided to stay an extra week.
And then we had to drive all the way home again.
Flat tire around hour 22.
Annie captured it all in her journal,
and I took over 2000 pictures.
So you see even if this is the longest post you have
ever read in your life,
I went easy on ya :)
But my next post will probably be our shark tale.
Beautiful pictures, as always! Looks like it was a lot of fun! You're a brave girl to go traveling with 4 little ones! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't get over how much Roo has grown already!

ReplyDeleteNope. No way. Would never do a 24 hour car trip with 4 kids. Not uh. You are my hero! These pictures are just precious! I love the one with the back of Annie and Roo. And all the running on the beach! So funny! And you look beautiful. And so does that precious woman in her visor with her cute little poof sticking out the top. What a cutie! And you were soooooooo close to me! SO CLOSE! Hours away but still so much closer!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Jess

The ocean looks wonderful and your family looks even more wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYou captured some great memories Libbie!
I took almost 2000 photos (1800?) on our trip to England and France. I have posted photos from the first week of our trip. I've been busy and haven't managed a second post yet.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of your family!
Glad you made it home safe and sound. :)
what a wonderful time! love the pictures!!!
ReplyDelete(my new granddaughter's name will be Anna;i've told my daughter to not be surprised when I call her "annie.")
what beautiful pictures and memories. I stumbled across your blog. My family leaves for Gulf Coast of Alabama in 2 weeks and I am shopping for a new camera. Do you mind me asking what type of camera you have? I want to capture this trip as my oldest is 22 and dont know how many more trips we will have. I think we are staying in the same area as I recognize the ferris wheel picture from things I have researched. Would love any advice you have - our youngest is 17 but is blessed with autism and not sure how is he going to do on this trip - our first since 2000! Thank you and God bless your beautiful family!

Dear Lib, am so glad you all had a great time - these pix look like pure vacation fun, with everything kids like. And when the kids are happy, parents can relax a bit. A bit ;) Sorry to hear about bleach on your carpet and knifes on your sofa. But I KNOW what boys are like. Mine smoked Shisha the other day with friends in OUR living room and the thing fell down and burnt a lot of nasty black wholes in our carpets. So, you're not the only one dreaming about a stylish, neat and peaceful house! But we still love our boys, don't we? xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this holidays!!!Beautiful pictures indeed!I want to see all the 200 picture!!ahahaha! You are the best!
ReplyDeleteHugs
You sure got a great bunch of photos (I'm sure the rest look just as good too). What fun to visit the ocean. Glad everyone had a good time!
ReplyDeleteBwuaaahaaa, my buns are bleeding!! I'll have to remember that one. Oh, Libbie, wonderful, emotional pictures! You have some treasures there, for sure. Can't wait to hear about the sharks.
ReplyDeleteGlad all are back safe and sound.
What a wonderful trip! Your pic's are adorable... Annie is so photogenic... as are all your children. Running on the beach was too cute and I love the pic. of the lady in the visor. LOL
ReplyDeleteStill can't believe Rocco walked all the way down to the blue house and back. Bo and Zadie only made it down there. That's a long way for those little legs. And he held on to my finger the entire time, it was pretty cute.
ReplyDeleteAnd still giggling over those tan lines...
Hi Libbie, what a fantastic family adventure. I can't believe that ya'll survived the car trip with little ones. Our travel time with layovers was about 10 hours. Yesterday when we were waiting in the airport for the flight out of Kathmandu, I heard a little boy tell his mama that he was about to die... I think the waiting was getting to him. Ha! Great photos of the kids on the beach. Little Roo sleeping is precious. No doubt those boys kept you busy. Glad to hear you had a great time and are back home safe and sound. Have a great day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun vacation (well except for the long drive)! You made some wonderful memories for everyone, which you can relive with all those pictures. Thanks for sharing some of them. It was a long post, but great fun seeing the terrific shots of adorable kids!
ReplyDeletenow you just made me fall in love with your famiy all over again! Lib... can I please adopt those little people of yours, so stinking cute! I love the famiy shot, but Kate is almost way too far in the back to see her hoochie momma hair! Your kids are just gorgeous, as are you! Love the pic of Kel and Annie, so sweet. I could go on and on but I will give you time to catch up on laundry and type out your shark tale! t. xooxox
ReplyDeleteHow fun! It looks like it was an absolute blast! Those little ones will have wonderful memories of that beach, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI am laughing over the hair in the visor! Your comment made me laugh!
Great photos!
Oh Dear Libbie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a Glorious holiday you all had...but 24 hrs on route...You and your babies deserve a medal. I myself could not have have accomplished this HUGE feat...WELL DONE! What great memories you have gifted your family with...once again. Not to mention the sand between your toes...ahhhh...chair in the water and something cool to drink in my hand... Yup, this is my favorite part of summer. Thanks for popping by for a visit. Enjoy your week sweet girl...xoxo...Rosie
I love that the Whole family went. What a great way to spend a vacation. Funny when I was getting dressed this morning I thought of how much I would love to take my grandbabies to the beach before the summer ends.
ReplyDeleteTooo funny about the buns hurting but I have say twenty four hours in a car I would of been crying right beside him. hahaha
Wow 2000 photo's I think you have a record set for vacation shots and honey I so hope that lady is not one of your many followers. If so I am sure she will understand. hahahaha
Love ya
Maggie
