Star Gazers

Tonight the stars were bright.
Tonight summer air was lingering.

Kelly had put Annie to bed & she had fallen asleep.
But, I knew we only had 1 or 2 nights left like tonight.
So, I gently woke her up & told her to meet us on the deck.

We got out blankets, layed on our backs,
& watched the stars.

I was next to Bo & I loved peeking over at him.

Roo didn't know what to think.

There were lots of giggles,
lots of praises to our Creator,
 and lots of, "Bo!  Shhhh,!"

Some of the giggles were at Bo,
who always puts on Rocco's pants by accident.
He keeps us all smiling.

None of us wanted to go inside.

Starlight, starbright.
I wish you all such a beautiful night!

Ah sweet precious Libbie how I wish I had been on your star gazing adventure. Love that you woke up Annie so she would not miss out on such a blessing.
These pictures are just so precious of everyone. Makes me want to reach you and give all big hugs.
Roo is really getting big.
So happy that you are such a blessing to your beautiful babies. Momma of the year for sure

What a beautiful family moment! These are the memories that matter for a lifetime. I should know--I used to do this with my mom ages ago! These are wonderful pictures and I'm so glad you got to have another special night with the kids before it got too cold.

Good for you! I love doing impromptu stuff like this with my family. The moments like this cost nothing and create lasting memories for your children.

We spent a month in Florida for three years and out of all the wonderful things we did each year while we were down there, one was to walk on the beach of the Atlantic Ocean on the night of the full moon. I think my children talk about that more than Disney World!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Aww, I bet the kids will remember these times when they are older. I love Bo's short pants. I think it might be the next fashion trend. :-)

What a cute idea! It is those kinds of nights that your kids will remember and think, "Wasn't mom good to us?" (At least we can hope for those kinds of thoughts from our kids, right?!) ;)

Oh, and Nantucket is a world unto itself. It is so pricey, but such an amazing place to see! You should just keep it on your "places to visit" list!

How sweet Libbie. I love doing this with the kids. We do the same thing every year, get out the blankets and pillows and gaze up at the stars and see who can spot a satellite. My hubby even dragged the recliner out on the deck one year!! It was really comfy. :)
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo

So thankful for those stars last night. I needed them to help dad and Kelly tow the grandpa car home. It was so dark out there. And we ran over dad in the process. Well, only his knee, but it wasn't pretty. Kind of matches his two black eyes...

And the Milky Way was beautiful last night too. Zeke can't wait for the Northern Lights to make their presence known. He wants to sleep out in the front yard on a school night.

Are you readyreadyready, ready to run? Good job to Annie. Wished we had been there 10 minutes earlier. Bummer, but it was miraculous that we even made it you know. Not having a car and all...

I LOVE how you are creating WONDERFUL memories with your family simply by taking a moment to "stop and smell the roses" or in this case to enjoy our fleeting summer and the beauty of the creation and worship the CREATOR of all things!

best. mom. ever. What a great memory that you just made for all of you. We were at a Halloween party Sat. night and our friends live way out in the country bordered by state land and Duane and I snuck away from the party and went for a walk on their property to star gaze. We used to live in the country and every time we go to a home in the country it makes us miss it. You don't see stars that bright in town.
best. mom. ever. that's who you are Lib. t. xoxooxoxoxo
