Away in a Manger

Thank you Lord, for sending us your Son.

To read a Christmas story about my nephew, the wiseman up there, that MIGHT make you cry (made me) click here.

What are you serving the Reindeer?

My mom took some of the grandkids (don't worry, not Bo)  to a Santa Breakfast.  They came home with very full goody bags but their favorite thing was a sack of reindeer food!  They made it themselves, Annie was very proud.

Here is an up close look:

There was some straw, bird seed, rabbit pellets & the best ingredient of all was Christmas cookie sprinkles!  Wouldn't your kids have a fun time whipping up a batch of this for Santa's reindeer?  Just look in your pantry & I bet you have just what you need:  oatmeal, granola, raisins, dried fruit, even pick a little grass!  Just don't forget the Christmas Cookie Sprinkles!
You could even give them a recipe to follow!
Here are the directions you might need for Christmas Eve:

Thanks Nanna for the fun day!

The score is...Christmas Decorations 2 : Libbie 0

As confessed (and pictured:) in an earlier post, I am fighting the urge to bust out my boxes of garland & have been coersed into putting my kids' trees up yesterday. Well...the decorations are winning & creeping in.

As I wrap my Christmas presents I always put them above the cupboards in my kitchen...toddler proof!  They are my favorite decarations because they come down Christmas Day & don't need to be stored!  Of course Santas gifts are still in hiding :)

Well, I am sure by Thanksgiving my garland will be out & all over the place...where is my self control!

The Score is...Kids & Christmas Decorations 1 : Libbie 0

Yes, it is TOTALLY too early to put up Christmas decorations!  Last night, I went to Target & saw a 6 foot, skinny, fake tree on sale for 25 bucks!  Now, we always get 2 real ones for downstairs, but for the kids rooms I go fake.  I couldn't resist it.  Of course I was talked into putting it up to try out the new blue lights for Bo's tree, which led to putting up Annie's tree (It wouldn't be fair now would it?)  So this is how they went to bed...
Annie's Room

Bo's Room

I lost. They won. And now my hand is twitching to dig into the garland boxes.
