In My Defense...

In my defense...
he was just too cute,
and totally dead serious,
when he looked up at me with
those big, long-lashed eyes,
and asked if he could wear
his new pajama top to school on picture day.

Without hesitation I just smiled
&
I said yes.

Chewie is my Co-Pilot.

I mean it was his 7th birthday.

The Ugly Sweater

Roo is my elf all year round.
If I'm cooking, he's chopping.
If I'm crafting, he's gluing.
If Kelly is fixing, he's hammering.

So when his class announced a:
"Make an Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest."
I knew he'd be all hands-on.

Everyday he would get home from Kindergarten
and ask me if I had picked up his supplies.
The problem was I was picking up
lots and lots of supplies but had no plan.
Even picking up fabric with no clue what it would become.

2 days to go and still nothing.
Finally, we just pulled it all out
and made the one thing that has everything!

Lucky for me, Roo can run a hot glue gun
like nobody's business.

He's happiest when he's gluing.

And then, we went mad,
and supplies started flying everywhere
until we had the perfect ugliest sweater.

And he was happy as could be.
(as all elves should be)

And he was pretty excited that he tied for first place.
He got a whopping 2 votes. :)

I better go try to catch him.
Wish me luck.

Hats Off to Roo

Roo

I wish so badly that you knew Roo...I mean REALLY knew him.
He is the hardest of all my kids to say no to because he is so stinkin' sweet.  Plus, he has really long eyelashes that he bats at me,
gets me every time.

On Saturday he turned 3.
We used the morning to get ready for a little party.  I just got home from dragging the kids to Target for a few party supplies & he looks up at me, "Where are the party hats?"

Party hats!
I didn't get any party hats...
and those eyes...they really do get me.

So we dragged out the felt box & got to work.
We just glued felt to cardstock and used a headband.
The kids told me what shape they wanted,
 I cut & they decorated.

I was really surprised how much fun we had,
and what a mess we made.

But, before we knew it we had hats for the gang,

& Annie was stuck with a cupcake on her head.
(hey~her idea not mine :)

She rocked it,

& everyone looked equally ridiculous.

& I do mean EVERYONE!

Which only added lots of giggles to the party.

(Uncle Dan is a good sport.)

Roo was particularly fond of his crown.

He thought it was fabulous,
& I even found him taking a selfie with Annie.

& wouldn't you know...
when his cousins FaceTimed him with birthday wishes...
He insisted on wearing his crown.

Saturday I lost my favorite Instagram hashtag #roo2

& #roo3 doesn't have the same flair...but were doing it anyway.
Here is to a fab #roo3.

Love you Roo.

I really shouldn't have...

my phone.

A little more than a person should.

Roo is as attached to my phone as I am.
You know how most kids like a blankie?

When Roo gets tired...he asks for my phone.
I have about a dozen pictures of him sleeping like this:

Because he always does.

Even right at this very moment he is up in his crib
with Annie's toy cell phone.
My favorite thing about my phone is the camera.
I am capturing our life with that little baby gadget!

Yesterday I set it on the hood of the car to help one of the kids with his shoe.  I looked at it & thought,
"I really shouldn't put it there."
& I shouldn't have.

My husband pulled in at that very moment
& instead of grabbing it...I walked out of the garage to greet him.
(His fault for being so cute.)

Then we all jumped in the car to go pick up Annie.
When we got home,
"Where is my phone?"
I knew.
My stomach dropped
because I knew.

We used
app to locate it about 2 miles away,
in a ditch.

But then it looked like this:

& I felt my heart sink, really sink, more than it should have.

I told my hubby I'd just wait for July until my contract was up.
I meant it, but inside I didn't like it too much.

An hour a later he had a new screen put on it by the
Gadget Guru.

He really takes good care of me :)

The camera doesn't work
& I will miss Instagram.

BUT
July will be here fast
& Roo is happy again.
(Me too.)

Between this & the green M&M
I have had lots of expensive lessons recently.

Just don't do it girls...
don't do it.
:)

Busted

The Classic...
"Honey, did you eat my thawing blueberries?"
"No...Dirty."
Hasn't every kid gotten caught like this?
I was thawing them for him anyway.

Chocolate Covered Grapes

I used to make these little babies all the time
for showers and parties.
They were always the biggest hit!

Chocolate covered grapes...yum!

I just melt chocolate chips,
dip,
& cool!

But, if you make them,
watch out for Rocco.
He might just show up!

I like them straight from the freezer
so even the grape is frozen.
My kids like them straight from the fridge,
hard chocolate, soft grape.

Speaking of sweet...
Annie got a card from the girl who received her
Operation Christmas Child box.

Now I know that it is not really that lil' babes lips,
but it got me thinkin...

Roo could do that!

Pucker up baby!

Well, almost...

He's just lucky I didn't use this pose:

Maybe tomorrow.

Crazy Running

So, today by 9:40 this morning I had hit Target,
Walmart, Marshall's & a park.
With 3 boys in tow may I add :)
I got into the first store & I was putting
Roo in the cart & I had to ask,
"Who put that pumpkin in his car seat?"
You really feel stupid carrying a baby around with a pumpkin.

So we get into the 2nd store...
"Crap!  I forgot to take that pumpkin out."

& the third...
"Your kidding me!  Why didn't I take that pumpkin out!"
I got lots of smiles...

"That crazy lady is carrying a baby & a pumpkin"
around smiles.

But, speaking of crazy running around...
Last week, my friend Lisa & my cousin (BFF) Angie
ran the Twin Cities Marathon.

So I used my mom's machine
& made some shirts for Roo
& Angie's son to cheer her on.

My mom, our Aunt, Roo & I
headed down to cheer them on & I have to say..
The boys were the cutest cheerleaders down there!

Well...besides our Aunt.

But, it must of worked...
because the girls did Awesome!

YAY Angie & Lisa!!!!

Vegas Baby

When People think of Las Vegas they think of Paties & gambling but me...
I think of my BFF Sarah.

We were neighbors growing up,
took a million summer night walks as teens,
even taught together at the same school
& then in prances Ryan.
Steals her heart & drags her off to Las Vegas :)
If he wasn;t such a good cook I'd have to take revenge.

When the wedding in Colorado was done my husband & Bo flew home and Roo & I flew onto Las Vegas.
(Sarah & my husband planned this as a surprise & I found out about a week before we left.)
It was heavenly!

Now, I am not into gambling or partying
but you should have seen Roo!

He hit the strip & we had a hard time keeping up.
Vegas Baby!

His fave was the Bellagio.

Inside

and out.

So we chilled with his peeps (Sarah's kids),

and took in a fountain show.

and while the paparazzi was
taking pictures of me with my Godson,

& my BFF.

The party king snuck off,

& lucky he is too young for credit cards or we
would have gone home broke.

He also did a lot of flirting with the ladies.
I'm gonna have to watch this guy!

As much as I hated to leave
I couldn't wait to get home because
I actually missed Annie's first day of school!

But thanks to Daisy Pink Cupcake's giveway
(She knows about everything cool!!!)

I was able to leave behind a first day care package.

The coolest book by Joyce Wan!

Joyce even autographed it!!!

We feel so blessed
& EVERYONE loves it.

It truly is the sweetest book I've ever read.
Gonna order some for baby gifts :)

Can't wait!

~Thanks~
Sarah
