So I'm Crazy...

Last night it was snowing like crazy.
Big fat snowflakes coming down so hard that I could barely see, even a car length ahead of me, driving home late from Target.

So at 10:00 when I got home I ran in,
dumped Kit & the groceries on Kelly
& grabbed my phone to call my college roomie.

She didn't answer.
So I called her again.
and again.

See where it says Rensen?

Yes...I called her 7 times...in a row!

So I left a message telling her why I was calling.
And when I had finally given up,
my phone rang.
It was her.
She was singing.
And I said so desperately happy, "Are your shoes on?"
"Yes."
"Is your jacket on?"
"Yes."
"Yay!!!"
I said & I ran outside.
Are we sang & danced in the falling snow together.
She was at her house & I was at mine.
And it still makes me smile now.

& by the time we were done dancing the snow had stopped.
We hadn't missed it.

I even took a picture of my tracks because they just made me smile.

Yep, I was twirling & leaping.

In college Rach & I fell in love with the song
The Snowfoot Waltz
by The Divers

It's a love story.

If you don't have it on your ipod YOU NEED IT!
Especially if you have kids or you live where it snows.
Best 99 cents you will ever spend.
& it will always be
"our song"

Dance with me
Through the falling snow.
The temperature's fine for three-quarter time
And there's no better ballroom I know.
Dance with me
Through the empty streets.
The traffic is dead
And there's a tune in my head,
And without you it won't be complete
to do the Snowfoot Waltz.

Love Ya Rach!

Crazy Running

So, today by 9:40 this morning I had hit Target,
Walmart, Marshall's & a park.
With 3 boys in tow may I add :)
I got into the first store & I was putting
Roo in the cart & I had to ask,
"Who put that pumpkin in his car seat?"
You really feel stupid carrying a baby around with a pumpkin.

So we get into the 2nd store...
"Crap!  I forgot to take that pumpkin out."

& the third...
"Your kidding me!  Why didn't I take that pumpkin out!"
I got lots of smiles...

"That crazy lady is carrying a baby & a pumpkin"
around smiles.

But, speaking of crazy running around...
Last week, my friend Lisa & my cousin (BFF) Angie
ran the Twin Cities Marathon.

So I used my mom's machine
& made some shirts for Roo
& Angie's son to cheer her on.

My mom, our Aunt, Roo & I
headed down to cheer them on & I have to say..
The boys were the cutest cheerleaders down there!

Well...besides our Aunt.

But, it must of worked...
because the girls did Awesome!

YAY Angie & Lisa!!!!

The Boxes

Today when Annie got home from school she opened the door & yelled, "MOM!!!!  There is a huge box out here and it is for me!  And there is one for you too!"

I hadn't been expecting a package so I was very curious!

Beth.  Beth is a forever friend.

We went to Kindergarten together.
We were in a little charity pageant together.
We tortured neighbor boys together.
I could go on & on & on!!!

And in 3rd grade when she moved...my heart was broken.

But we stayed friends.
The best of friends

And although we don't get a chance to visit each other very often she still finds ways to love up my family.

You should have seen the boxes she sent today!!!

Yes!  Those are colored socks in there!!!
Painful.  Very Painful :)

But seriously it was like she bought out an entire store
& shipped it to my kids!!!

Not even everything is pictured because 1/2 of it was
already all over my living room!

They were busy smiling, giggling & exploring for HOURS!!!!
Look at this cute little stationary set!
And I have a little glass hen collection & she sent me this!!!

To which Annie said, "Cool!  That will be mine soon!"
"Annie, I told you that you can't have my hens until I die."
(She asks me for them all the time.)
"I know."
Great, does anyone else find this a little premature? :)

& also a Fancy Dancy microwavable neck wrap...
...I am trying it out as soon as I am done here!
It had this little note on it:

DO I EVER!!!!

But even I have to admit...
those dreadful colored socks looked adorable on Annie & she needed them for our St. Patrick's Day Birthday Party
(Hi Cal)
 we are going to tomorrow.

THANK YOU BETH!!!
We LOVE YOU TOO!!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!!!
Okay...this girl is gonna be trouble :)

Precious Gifts

These are a few gifts my sister has given my daughter.

Breaking Stereotypes.

Showing Strength.

Following Dreams.

Not just having a role model...
...being one.

Showing courage.
Leading.

Dominating.

Showing NO FEAR.

Imagine what you could do empowered like that.

And then that strong woman grabs your hand and says,
"Come on, Annie."

Stand Tall, Baby Girl,
Stand Tall.
I can already see you
shaping her future,
thanks Kate.

Tea Party

Grab your hat,

your best purse,

and your gloves.

We are headed to the annual church TEA PARTY!

Now, you must know, these are no ordinary purse & gloves...these are very special.  A dear friend, Grandma Dot, passed away last year at the age of 96.  She worked in the church nursery holding my babes up until the very end of her beautiful life.

Here she is with my kiddos on her 96th birthday.
She was a friend who loved my children, took care of them, and taught them about Jesus.  Annie adored her &  after she went to heaven, her daughters honored Annie with Grandma Dot's purse and some of her little gloves.  We feel truly blessed to have a little piece of her.

Annie treasures the purse & gloves since they remind her of Grandma Dot and they were just perfect for this special occasion!

We stopped to pick up Auntie Cake's Nature Girl.  Cousins are a girl's best friend.

When we arrived at church, Annie made the rounds, to collect hugs & kisses from friends.

Grandma Lorraine has taken care of Annie in the nursery since she was a newborn, while I go to Bible Study and many Sunday mornings.
Miss Ruthie is one of Grandma Dot's daughters and loved seeing her purse and gloves.  It was the first tea party without Grandma Dot & she was missed very much!

Annie loves hanging with the teenagers.
They are pretty sweet...they actually let her.

Nature Girl set our table with her very own China.  She got the whole set at a garage sale for only 1$...I would say she did pretty good!

Cousin Zadie was all dressed up too!
Nana (my mom)

Annie put in 5 sugar cubes, cream, a honey stir stick, and lemon.

It was a three course tea...but we all loved the dessert bests!
Thanks for joining us!
