Every year my mom plants a pot of grass for each grandchild.
We keep them by our kitchen window
& they grow like crazy.
This is only 2 days after a haircut!
BO LOVES giving them haircuts!
They get quite a close shave!
But in 2 days...it'll be ready for another cut.
But my FAVORITE tradition is
Ukrainian Easter Eggs.
My little sister & I both student taught under Slava, a woman from the Ukraine. She taught it to her class every year & we were lucky enough to pick it up!
These are my first two eggs this year.
I like to use the traditional pattern and go crazy from there.
The details are so fun!
The newly cut grass makes a great way to display the eggs.
And of course a special egg in the lunch box is always a hit.
I give these eggs a survival rate of about 1,
maybe 2 days...
you know my boys!
Do you have any special traditions?

What a great tradition is the grass. New life each Spring!!!I make or purchase a decorated egg for each of my grands to hang on their Easter trees. When they reach 13 they get a cut crystal one. I believe this tradition started in England. It so much fun picking a different egg each year.

What a sweet post......have a nice springtime darling...love ....xxx..
GAAAAAAAAA! Oh my gosh, your Ukranian eggs are gorgeous! Did you know that I am Ukranian? I was given a book on how to do this years ago, but I have never tried. My Bushie would just love yours to pieces! The grass is something I say I'm going to do every year and then it's Easter weekend and I'm thinking, "maybe next year" but I think I have grass seed in the barn, now to find some dirt! Happy Wednesday! t.xoxooxoxo
WOW!!! Your eggs are aMaZinG!!! Just gorgeous ... you are SO talented! And the grass idea is too adorable! Love it as a little nest for the eggs too. :)
oh.my.goodness. those eggs are spectacular! beautiful! how in the world did you learn how to do that???
love the grass tradition. it is very nice to do for the kids.
You'll have to share the secret of the eggs. :) Those are beautiful!
Happy Easter!
Those are absolutely gorgeous! I would pay to take a class and learn how to make them!
The grass in a pot is so cute. I might have to do that either this year or next year. Both types of eggs look fantastic too.
The only traditions we have are dying eggs, an Easter egg hunt and giving Easter baskets. We also attend church on Easter, but I don't know if I would call that a tradition or not.
Oh wow - that's such a lovely tradition!
What joy...we love to plant grass seeds as well..and boy does it every grow...wish my hair grew that fast. Just thinking about Easter eggs the other day..yours are lovely. xoxox
The Ukrainian Eggs are beautiful and I just love the tradition of the pots of grass too! Sounds like so much fun for the kids. Have a wonderful Easter.
This was never a tradition in our house but sure looks like fun. I have some cat grass around here somewhere. Wonder if it would still grow? Would give Jingles something to eat other than the plants. :) Your Ukranian style eggs are absolutely gorgeous! Best wishes to one and all, Tammy
Lovely tradition...love your blog, I am following you come follow me:)
Love,Debbie:)
These eggs are beautiful! I remember how fun it was to dye Easter eggs when the kids were young. They were never bright enough for me though hehe.
