I married a hockey player.
When I sat next to him in class I thought he was very cute
but I knew he was a hockey player...
& I knew hockey players were wild.
Until one day when my car didn't start.
He tried to help me out & ended up giving me a ride.
It was on that little ride I found out he didn't drink, didn't party.
That was important to me.
And that moment changed my life.
It was on.
I chased him & we dated for four months before he proposed.
That hockey player changed my life.
We live happily ever after...
But this year Annie became
a hockey player.
And another hockey player changed my life.
I watched her suit up for the first time.
I watched her take her dad's number as her own.
I watched my little angel...
...get her first penalty, and second, & third.
My phone & Instagram account
filled up with pictures like these:
My boys became rink rats,
Family became fans.
The biggest fan of all award might go to Kit.
And no matter how many times Kelly got hit in the face with pompoms he never seemed to mind :)
Strangers became dear friends,
And I started clipping newspapers.
Amazingly orange, my least favorite color, became my favorite.
I found myself buying orange ribbon for hair bows,
& orange nail polish for Tiger manicures before big games.
But the biggest change of all,
was that I fell in love with watching my girl...
...play hockey.
Go Tigers!
Love you # 7
P.S. turns out I was right...hockey players are wild ;)

LOVE this post! Great photos, too! Way to go, Annie, carrying on your family's hockey tradition! <3
Oh my friend,
I LOVED this post. Possibly because some of my life blood is made up of hockey - just being Canadian and all?!
That must be such a proud daddy there. :) Your kids, all your fine kids, are getting so big. You gave such a great picture into what hockey is like.
Go Tigers! :)

Love it! My husband played hockey too...street hockey, but my daughter took figure skating lessons for 3 years, so I know what it's like living at the skating rink...it's a whole other world..lol
Owww sweet Annie...lucky number 7.... i love that girl...and her mom too....love Ria...x !
Looks like everyone had a great time.
why is it that we try and keep that youngest one a baby for as long as we can...and they grow up faster than all the others did! Kit is growing by leaps and bounds! Yikes! It's nearly time for another baby, Libbie!
Love Annie's hockey photos...she'll be a tough girlie to beat! Thanks for sharing!
YAy to Hockey players and all of YOU, wild guys - because - wild can be GOOD! xox
Sweet post! Go, Annie!!

Go Tigers GO!!!! Just darling and Anne is just adorable ...I have a feeling you will have everyone of those boys in hockey too....you may just want to see if you can rent a room at that hockey rink. Hope you are all very very well...thinking of you often my friend. xoxoxo Keep warm...hear it is very very cold out your way.
Yay for Annie! It's so great that everyone came out and supported her too.
I simply adore you and your precious family. Coming by here is the highlight of my week and especially when I find a post as heartwarming as this one.
The whole time I kept thinking oh my Annie is growing up way too fast and now she is involved in sports.
Of course living here I have never been to a hockey game but the ones I see on TV seem like a very hard sport to play.
Annie is so darling in her uniform and I love the pics of Kelly especially holding the best fan ever. haha
What a Blessing all of you are and I love you truly.
You have such a gift for writing and the love penetrates through your words that you have for your sweet family.
Just a wonderful post and it brought such joy to me tonight to come by and visit with you.
My bucket list is to meet all of you some day. I just know it will happen.
Sending you warm hugs and much love
Maggie
