It is actually my birthday today...I am NOT big into my birthday...I surprised even myself by doing this post. But my little sister Rachael is nuts about birthdays and always tries to make my day special. Here is my lil' sis & me & our 2nd babes.
Every year I hear, "Why is your birthday so terrible every year!" I usually get that phone call by my birthday night...today it came at 8a.m.
I always tell her, " What are you talking about...it is always nice!"
And then she remeinds me, "What about the year that you went to the new Copeland's and after you waited an hour for your food they came back & told you that the guy who has the key to the freezer took it home with him & they couldn't get your food out of the freezer."
"Oh yeah, that one sucked." I agree.
"What about when you drove across town, dropped off your kids, and were all excited to go out for sushi at the Kubuki house with reservations for a special backroom just for you & Kel . Then when you were about to go in he said, 'Wait, where is my wallet?' So you had to skip it."
"Oh yeah, that was really a bummer."
"Or the year before that when we all had to drive well over an hour in the snow storm to drive 10 miles away & all the husbands were supper crabby."
"Yeah, you are right Rach...my birthdays do suck!" I fianlly agree.
"And when it was your big 30th birthday & Kelly was in China...."
Really I think she goes on for quite awhile. But the year Kelly was in China sucked too :) Before he got on the plane I said, "Next time you see me I will be out of my 20s! I will be an Old woman!"
And I was. Here is how I picked him up at the airport:
Yes, he did think I was a nut job. I am. It runs in our family. I always tell my kids, "You are weird...good thing I like weird."
Anyway! Today it has begun, Rachael had planned to drive across town & celebrate the day with me. Blizzard! She is not coming & I will not get one bite of that cake she made me & I already have received my first gift from Bo. He cleaned my spice drawer!
And when I asked him to fix my feathered Christmas tree that he ripped apart while I was doing this post he looked at me excitedly and said, "With my hammer?"
Now I have him (& Annie) playing safely under this computer desk & a screaming baby on my lap as I try to hit PUBLISH POST.
So, it has begun...my birthday.
But, I do think a Snow Day off of school for my Annie is a good gift. Happy Birthday to me :)
I always like to measure the snow by how high it is out my back window.
It is Rocco high today.
Hope you have a good day! I am planning to too!
