Intense LOVE

This morning when I was leaving Target I saw a boy about 6 or 7 helping his dad put the bags in the car.  They were smiling and talking.  This little boy was bald, not "Dad doesn't want to pay for haircuts" bald...but the kind of bald where you just knew he was very sick.

Even though I have seen and even known kids like him before...as I was loading my two healthy boys into the car it hit me like a ton of bricks.  I almost started crying right there...and in that moment I felt intense LOVE

LOVE
for that little boy, whom I knew I would think of
& pray for often.
LOVE
for the 2 mildewed sippy cups I had to clean out that I just found behind Bo's bed.
LOVE
for the little tub of pears I found in my toilet.
LOVE
for the vanilla wafers I stepped on & smashed to bits on my way out the door.
LOVE
that Rocco screamed everytime I got
on the phone today.
LOVE
that Annie got sent to her room, even before school, for yelling at me.
LOVE
that every time we go out to play the boys go straight for the faucet.
LOVE
that Rocco dumped Bo's chocolate milk all over his shirt just before we got to the store.
LOVE
that I found my plant looking like this today:

LOVE
that when I put Bo down for his nap I found this in his bed...

LOVE
that my kids are healthy enough to be the little rascals they are.

And you know....when Bo played his birthday horn, as LOUD as he could, all the way home from the store...I let him.  It was actually one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.

Cinderella

Cinderella, why you blue?

Cinderella lost her shoe.

Cinderella, why you glad?
Must be the fabulous party you had.

Happy Birthday to my neice Elzeda.
Zadie was the perfect princess on her 3rd birthday.

Every Princess NEEDS the perfect princess cake.  My mom made this one & it really was...just perfect!

Also, I am a guest at Jessica's Two Shade of Pink today!  I was TOTALLY honored!  Stop on by & tell her hello.  She is in the middle of moving her family and I am sure she could use some encouragement as she undertakes this huge task!  And besides...she is fabulous!!!

Come Here Baby!!!

Rocco is walking!

Last week, I was on the phone with my friend Jessie & I ended up yelling in her ear.  Rocco ~ who had never taken more than 3 steps, and really couldn't stand on his own ~ stood up in the middle of the room and just started walking!  I yelled, "Rocco's walking!!!!"  Then...I apologized for yelling.  Jessie, a mom of 2 with one on the way, shared in my joy.

Now, a week later...he doesn't even
crawl anymore.
Come here Baby!!!

Good Job Rocco!  Come on!

YEAH!!!!  That's my boy!

Tea Party

Grab your hat,

your best purse,

and your gloves.

We are headed to the annual church TEA PARTY!

Now, you must know, these are no ordinary purse & gloves...these are very special.  A dear friend, Grandma Dot, passed away last year at the age of 96.  She worked in the church nursery holding my babes up until the very end of her beautiful life.

Here she is with my kiddos on her 96th birthday.
She was a friend who loved my children, took care of them, and taught them about Jesus.  Annie adored her &  after she went to heaven, her daughters honored Annie with Grandma Dot's purse and some of her little gloves.  We feel truly blessed to have a little piece of her.

Annie treasures the purse & gloves since they remind her of Grandma Dot and they were just perfect for this special occasion!

We stopped to pick up Auntie Cake's Nature Girl.  Cousins are a girl's best friend.

When we arrived at church, Annie made the rounds, to collect hugs & kisses from friends.

Grandma Lorraine has taken care of Annie in the nursery since she was a newborn, while I go to Bible Study and many Sunday mornings.
Miss Ruthie is one of Grandma Dot's daughters and loved seeing her purse and gloves.  It was the first tea party without Grandma Dot & she was missed very much!

Annie loves hanging with the teenagers.
They are pretty sweet...they actually let her.

Nature Girl set our table with her very own China.  She got the whole set at a garage sale for only 1$...I would say she did pretty good!

Cousin Zadie was all dressed up too!
Nana (my mom)

Annie put in 5 sugar cubes, cream, a honey stir stick, and lemon.

It was a three course tea...but we all loved the dessert bests!
Thanks for joining us!

Annie's Party Planning...Kid's Craft

I FINALLY finished my sample of the craft the girls will make at the party...Fairy Glitter Globes!  I call them snowglobes but Annie has corrected me...glitter globes they are!  I learned a lot making this one.  This one still needs a prettier ribbon but I am sooooo glad I tried it ahead of time!   Perfect for a garden tea party!

The kids can't keep their hands off it!

Bo has grabbed it & made a run for it quite a few times :)

Salsa Jar (painted  lid)
Glitter
Beads
Fairy
Plastic Juice Cap (to raise fairy up)
Hot Glue Gun (to seal jar)
Floral Bond (fasten fairy)
Glycerin (just a few drops)
