Spelling Test

I have to warn you...this is not the nicest post,
but I couldn't resist.
So if you don't like bad words
 (I REALLY don't)
click off now :)

I always have Annie write out my shopping lists to have her practice her spelling and writing.  I was SOOOOO glad to see SHIRT on her spelling test this week.  Look what I almost bought last week at Target:
I was reading the list back to her & had to stop myself fast!  If you know me it is even funnier...I don't even let my kids say WHATEVER.  I am just glad she was a super speller this week & knows how to spell it now :)

So funny!

My two daughters were just looking through boxes of old letters and notes and some of them were hysterically funny! The bad spelling, the fake complements and more...

I used to make them say five nice things to each other whenever they insulted each other and I must have made them write it down sometimes. At the time I probably wouldn't have been amused but let me tell you, insincere compliments can be quite funny when you read them years later.

heheeee...that is sooo cute!
we don't use words like that aswell so I would of had to explain in an imaginative way why I was giggling so much.
that's a great way to get them spelling, must try that this year with Amelie.
happy day to you sweet Libbie ♥

That's SO funny! As a first grade teacher I can appreciate it even more! I once asked my students to write something about themselves in their journals that I didn't know about them. One sweet little girl wrote her name and wrote wild hor ! She did draw a picture of a horse with it, but I tell you, I nearly died laughing!

Okay... I think there was a glitch that prevented this from posting the first time I tried it. So I'll try again.
"Ohhhhh my goodness - that's hilarious! I remember when my son was learning to 'sound out' words. There was a sign on a bank that read "Society National Bank". He'd previously learned that "cie" sounded like 'sh". So you can imagine what we heard from our back seat when we drove past that bank. lol"

That is so cute!!!

A few weeks ago Noah came up to me and said, "I know what the 'F' word is." I know my face looked HORRIFIED and SHOCKED. He asked me if he could just spell it to me and he proceeded to say,
"F - R - E - K - Y, right Mom?"
"Uhhhhhhm yep, honey, that's right...that's what that word is."
"I know that you really shouldn't call people freaky though because it's not nice."
"Right, honey."

Oh how funny. I know when I was about 5 I used to make my parents cringe when I would call out for a neighbor boy. His name was Baxter. I will leave it to your imagination how that came out. Thanks for the chuckle.

HAHAHAHAHA! Yep...that's a keeper for the memory box. Such sweet innocence. And such entertainment for all of us! And were you really shopping for a lamp, some fruit, paper and ink? What a random list. Ah, but that IS the beauty of Target. Thanks for sharing. :)
