Smart Snack

Since I always show the junkie food we have for
special treats I thought I might show you how I try
to balance all that junk out :)
(Before I give Shelly at A LITTLE SPINACH a heart attack :)

When there are lots of little hands around I
like to make up snack trays.  Just a muffin tin
filled with all sorts of little treats.  Then the kids
can make their own healthy decisions.

This was the one I made up this morning:
Just put out some bowls, spoons,
& toothpicks & you are set!
I actually had a hard time taking pictures
because Rocco could not wait to dig in!
And soon...it was mobbed :)

It is fun to watch your kids create,
and eat,
Healthy little snacks all by themselves :)

I was wishing I had whipped up some of Shelly's
to put in one section.  Bo, my picky eater, just
LOVED it & it is super healthy!
(Unless you eat the whole batch :)

What would you fill your tin with?

I love this. I need to try this with Sweet'ums! Except she'd eat the whole thing by herself. You've got the best ideas!

I wanted to dig right in, too! What a clever idea. I'll have to remember that with Avery when he gets a little older.

This little buffet is delicious! I used to make my kids a heap of cut fruit or veggies - as soon as it was nicely cut, they ate it like hungry tigers!

Super idea! Love how Bo's eating those blueberries.

I may try a version of this for my 93 year old father-in-law. He would enjoy all the options.

Thanks Libbie!

Kids are always happy when they are given choices rather than just one thing that they may not like at all. A good way to get them to eat and its healthy to boot. Looks good to me! Best wishes for your weekend. Tammy
