Making Memories

Life seems to be speeding up.

Just yesterday Annie was born.
Now, when I lay out clothes in the morning
there are FOUR pairs of jeans on my bed.
Even you might remember Roo being born,
and in a few weeks he'll be one.
I've been tresuring every moment of it though.
Taking joy in the little things.

This weekend we tapped a maple tree,
and even though it was no big deal,
I knew we were making memories.

In the bustle of a weekend full of activity and dear friends,
little moments like

finding the toilet won't flush because
there is an apple plugging it up,

and finding the boys giving Roo a makeover,
remind me to pause,
cuddle,
enjoy.
Won't last forever..

but the memories will...

What little memories do you hold dear?

For me, it's things like when she tells me she loves me, listening to her do her "shrimp call," and singing along to Lady Gaga in the car. Things like her begging to go to the aquarium, calling "Here, guppy guppy!" to her fish, and those spontaneous hugs that make my heart want to pop. They aren't big things and they're kind of mundane, but we've worked hard to get here. :)

I love your memories. Where DOES the time go?

Your family is adorable..you my friend so have your priorities in place...family is soooo important..those memories you are making for your children are priceless! You are an amazing mom!
Thank you for your sweet comment...but who needs the material treasures when what really is important are these everyday life treasures....you don't have to go treasure hunting...material treasures don't hold a candle to your treasures! xoxoxoxoxo Blessings of love to you all.

Such sweet memories you are making. Sometimes I wish they could just stay little forever. I tell my kids this all the time. I'm loving my Asher's quirky mannerisms--loving Spiderman and his funny little talk. Brooklynn is learning how to read and write and it is such a joy to watch her grow and be proud of herself and these new skills. I love these ages. :)

Aww, such a sweet post. It's always weird to me how the first 18 years of life seem to drag and now it seems to fly.

Glad you are enjoying your little ones!

Awe...such a sweet post!

I have never tapped a maple tree so that would be a big deal to me. Your apple down the toilet brought back a memory that my parents have shared with me. ...Once our toilet wouldn't flush, my dad took it off...brought it outside turned it over...KERPLUNK!! Out dropped a little girl's china teacup! I burst out crying, and ran away! My dad said, they knew who did it...and not another word was spoken about it...:)

Happy Monday to you!!

Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven with us.
xoxo...Gloria

OH Libbie,

Roo can`t be one already! I can not believe it--I remember praying for you when you went into the hospital (and then getting bumped...!)

Last night I will hold dear as I moved my little girl to a room by herself upstairs. The kitties were climbing on the peak of another part of the roof and peeking in through her window...and I knew as I left her upstairs in her big girl bed all by her lonesome...that God would be up there with her too! ;) Love these children!

One of my funny ones is, my son was 2 and we had just moved to FL. We were at the beach collecting seashells, David ran up excited to show us a white seashell. BUT it was old doggie poop! Ha!

the blue bow was a good choice for Roo! Those boys really know how to give a makeover! I bet tapping the maple tree was fun... funner than unplugging the toilet from the loose apple! Danielle and I were able to make a memory this past weekend, we went to the roller derby again and had a great time! t.xoxoxo

I am like Nezzy how in the world is Roo going to be a year already.
He is just so cute!
No wonder I have been feeling down lately I haven't been here in over a week. lol
Your pic's always make me feel better.
I would love to learn how to do pinterest but my house is already in sad shape and I don't have the helpers you do to get it that way. haha
I miss you honey and hope to be a better friend in the months ahead.
Been working outside so much I don't get on the computer like I want too.
You take care and enjoy your weekend.
Love ya
Maggie

I can't believe Roo is closing in on a year old!

I had to laugh when you mentioned the apple in the toilet...my Joe flushed a half eaten pear down the toilet when he was about 6 years old. When my husband was removing the toilet so he could get the firmly wedged pear out, he banged it into the tub and cracked the toilet. This is not a happy memory...but it sure is a funny one!

Have fun in every moment with your sweet babes!

I haven't stopped by in a while. Life has been so hectic here! It's good to read your latest post. My "babies" are so much older than yours. Lately I've been reminded how the days are long but the years are short. Only yesterday they were babies, then toddlers, and now I've got one going on 19, a 16 year old learning to drive and a twelve year old that will soon pass me up!

Enjoy these sweet years!
