Peach

I am not a big peach fan.  I LOVE peaches.  But the color peach...it is just not me.

For some reason I keep getting talked into peach things by my mom.  She doesn't even try!  I just fall right into it because she likes it & I find myself agreeing with her because she really does have good taste.  When I was a girl my bedroom was wallpapered like this:

(To see the cutest laundry room ever with this wallpaper click on Obee Designs)

I loved that bedroom!  I still think of it a lot & smile today.  It was me!!!  But as preteens do I decided I wanted change my room.  My mom & I went to the paint store & even though I didn't like peach.  I came home with this:

Now you have to understand....she didn't make me.  But she liked it and I convinced myself I did too, but I have to admit, it just never felt like me, does that make sense?

Jump ahead to my wedding.  My mom & I went to Dayton's to register for China.  I showed her this pattern along with many others & she loved it!  (Probably because the other patterns I showed her were weird :)  So I convinced myself I liked it & registered for it:

Again...I have never felt like it is me.  Pretty, but not me.

Now, I have to warn you...you might laugh.  But I went shopping with my mom yesterday & just look at me now:

Yep.  Got me again...but this time I am stuck with a big old peach bow on my head :)  Even I gotta laugh :)

Hi Libbie,
You are just way too cute! As cute as those yummy kids of yours:)!!!!!
Thanks so much for the link to my blog. That was so sweet of you. I must say the headband looks so cute on you. Just a question, does your mom have some kind of magic spell on you to remove the thought from your head that you're not found of peach??????? Dang, she's good at persuasion!!! If I ever need to convince my husband of something he's not on board with me on, I will definitely be calling your mom. Does she do that to your dad too? :) If so, the poor guy's probably at the mall right now instead of watching football. Ha Ha!

Your china is actually very pretty. But I have to say, I have some that is very similar. It is navy blue and peach. As a matter of fact, our first home was all navy blue and peach. Yikes, thank God the '80s are over!! What was I thinking???? Needless to say, you wouldn't have liked it, but your mom would have! Geez, thanks for reminding me of that scary thought. I hope my taste has improved over the years, or at least the styles have changed! There's an image I haven't visited in a while.
Thanks for your fun story and again, for the link to my laundry room!
XoXo

Yes, when I think of you, I think of red. Not peach. But mom has bought me a couple peach outfits over the years and said I look good in peach, but I am not a peach fan, either. Don't worry, I will make you a big red bow and maybe you will feel like yourself...

What is it about peach? I had a lot of people trying to convince me that I should wear more of it too as a kid. I'm still not sold on it for me. But your bow is really cute!

I've given you a Blog Award over at http://StarlightBlog.com Don't worry if you don't have the time to do the whole award thingy. It's mostly in acknowledgement of your great blog.

Some of the other posters said it and I want to concur, that you really look super cute in peach. I think it's a pretty good color for you! But you would be a darling in whatever you wore. I'm a middle child too!

You are so so funny...peach is not my colour either..I had a yellow room growing up and you got me to thinking about the fact that I am not a yellow girl..but it is my moms favourite colour ..hummm those moms! Have a great week my friend.

It's not a bad color on you. But you're right, it's not you.

You (inclusive your peach bow)and the baby, look adorable in the picture.

There's nothing wrong in listening to your Mom and adopting her preferrences even when it comes to...peach color.

I fell into the same trap. My mom had good taste in decorating...but it wasn't me. I finally came to the place where I know what I like, and if my mom were alive today, she would not approve. But that's okay. She loves me anyway.

Really funny.

But actually, peach looks gorgeous on your complexion. It makes your skin glow.

I can't wear peach. It turns my skin an icky shade of gray-green.

I didn't think peach was an option these days. But you look cute in it.

Libbie, you are so funny! I know what you mean, My mom made a lot of my clothes and she always wanted to do ruffles. I am not a person that looks good in lots of ruffles. Anyway, I know how moms can have that influence. But I DO think you look good in peach! Oh, and the post about Bo and your B&B. Just hilarious!
love ya,
Debra

First off... I LOVE your china! I have a few mismatched pieces of china I got at second hand stores but never got an actual set. Otherwise I might trade ya... Lol! I really like yours, it's lovely.

Peach is okay, but I hate hate hate orange. It has to be super pale peach or I don't like it. Like your bedroom walls? too dark, too orange for me. They would drive me crazy! Lol!

So apparently your mom missed her calling as an interrogator for the FBI if she's got these superpowers of pursuasion! Lol!
