Hamburger Seeds

When we were out at FIVE GUYS for a burger I was only half listening to Annie when she said about the sesame seeds, "These are hamburger seeds."
Since I was passing out food & settling everyone in, I was not really listening, I just automatically said, "Yep."
A few minutes later when we were all settled in with the boys at one table & Annie & I at our own table.  She said, "Uh Mom?  I just swallowed a seed without chewing it...is a hamburger going to grow in my tummy?"
I smiled, finally realizing what I had said, "No honey."
   "A bun?"
   "No."  :)
"I knew that."  she replied, but I knew she didn't. :)

After a little bit she was still curious, "Because there's no dirt right?"
   "Right."
   "And no roots."
"Honey, I'm sorry, I wasn't really paying attenttion, those aren't hamburger seeds...."  and I finally cleared it all up for her, afnd then just to remember it all I had to take a picture of Annie & her HAMBURGER SEEDS.

St.Patrick's Day

Last night we stopped over at my sister's, Auntie Cake's.  I turn around & wouldn't you know...I look out the door & see Kate has my kids dressed up like this:
Apparently they were joining Kate's Little Fireman for a LEPRACHAUN HUNT.

Off they go!
They took it very seriously.

I wish you could have heard them!  It was one of the cutest things I have seen in a long time.
Hope was rising when Bo said, "I caught tometing."  But dreams were quickly dashed when the kids saw what he caught:
At one point I leaned over & asked her "What happens when they never catch the leprachan?"
She said, "Well, he's coming to my house tonight."  & she sent me off with a bag of clovers, green marshmallows, & a crown so the leprachaun could visit us too.

So this morning...
The kids followed a trail of clovers to find treasure left by a leprachaun.
Annie was wondering if they left her a crown because maybe she really is the Queen of Clovers.

Later, Rocco waited at the door for her to get home for school.
She changed right away into her green clothes & enjoyed her green lunch.
Yeah....the Queen of Clovers is having a pretty fun green day :)

Happy St.Patrick's Day!

Number 79

Annie & I were in the car & she said, "Pretend I am a teenager."
 "Okay."
"Mom can I go to the football game tonight?"
"Of course honey...do you have your pom poms & your cheerleader skirt?"
"Mom!!!  I am PLAYING football!"

Of course...I should have known!  Annie has been to many, many football games and she can tell you her favorite player, although it may surprise you.  Her favorite professional football player is none other than her Auntie Cake!
I am not talking Powderpuff here...I am talking full on tackle, huddle up, buttslapping, professional women's football!
She is an Offensive Tackle & let me tell you ...the girl is good.
She was even this years MVP!!!
Check out her trophy.
How cool is that!

She has a ton of fans:

Annie,
Little Fireman,
Both sides of the family (with all our signs),
Sweet Blue bird & her friends,

Her Captain Awesome who is gonna kill me for this picture of him goofing off,

But hey it is way better than this picture,
I'm toast.
So here...
Still goofing around but I think he will like that one better.  He helps out with the balls during the game.  And he coaches the kids' game during half time.
His team always wins.

Anyway, back to her fan list...Bo,
Of course her own mom & her Nature girl,
Rachael's Isaiah,
Both her sisters,
Rach, Kate, & me
& Rocco even attended her game less than a month old!

She is inspiring little girls everywhere!
 Rachael's Zadie
But her biggest fans are...
Big Fireman & Little Fireman
Big Fireman watches every game.
And she even has real fans who aren't related :)  This was her first autograph & I was lucky enough to be there to snap the pic.
And of course they needed a pic with her too :)
So you see my glitter loving, pink wearing, cupcake baking, mom of 4, blogging, sister...Auntie Cake's secret is out of the bag.  Kate is the toughest lineman in the league ~ Just ask the girl who she was blocking from Toledo...she said, and I quote..."Everytime you tackled me I would think in slow motion, 'Here I am flying through the air again'.  And then I would land with a thud.  You are tough."

Yeah...not many girls can say..."My big sister is a professional football player."  But I can!
And I am so proud of her!!!

Why my Laundry Isn't Done

"Does anyone know why ALL the waffles are out?"
"And why there is a bite out of EVERY single one?"
"Yes Bo... I thought you might know."

The next day...
"Are you serious, Bo?!!!"
When I caught him he was taking a HUGE bite.
I don't even let them put sugar on their cereal!

"Has anyone seen my tape?"
NO, nobody has.

"Okay, where are the grapes?!"
My husband thinks he is so funny, "Is anyone watching these kids?"  he asks with a big grin.  I think he needs to babysit more.

I wonder how I will get anything done when Bo is so fast!
I want my superhero back :)

My Hero

It is REALLY hard to get a picture of superheros.

because they are...

...FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET!

And they don't have time to stop for pictures since they are always chasing BAD GUYS.

It's especially hard if they want to keep their identity hidden.

But lucky for me...this one stopped long enough to let me know, "It's ME mom!"
It's sure nice to have a SUPERHERO in the family.
I feel very blessed.
