Hamburger Seeds

When we were out at FIVE GUYS for a burger I was only half listening to Annie when she said about the sesame seeds, "These are hamburger seeds."
Since I was passing out food & settling everyone in, I was not really listening, I just automatically said, "Yep."
A few minutes later when we were all settled in with the boys at one table & Annie & I at our own table.  She said, "Uh Mom?  I just swallowed a seed without chewing it...is a hamburger going to grow in my tummy?"
I smiled, finally realizing what I had said, "No honey."
   "A bun?"
   "No."  :)
"I knew that."  she replied, but I knew she didn't. :)

After a little bit she was still curious, "Because there's no dirt right?"
   "Right."
   "And no roots."
"Honey, I'm sorry, I wasn't really paying attenttion, those aren't hamburger seeds...."  and I finally cleared it all up for her, afnd then just to remember it all I had to take a picture of Annie & her HAMBURGER SEEDS.

Whew! So glad there was no dirt to make those hamburger seeds grow. I was getting a bit worried there for a minute!

Dad should have been made to follow the same "no dirt" rule. His hamburger is growing pretty big now days!

Hi Libby! Right after I read this it hit me... I wish I would have had a blog when my kids were smaller, maybe I would have a reference to go to so that I could retell their funny stories! Makes me wish I would have written all of them down, you now have this stuff on record (not talking blackmail here or anything but this kind of stuff is perfect for graduation parties!) so one day you can look back and laugh all over again! That is such a funny story and makes you proud to know that she knows how to grow a good seed!!! Theresa

How adorable. Hamburger seeds. Funny - but being on the burger like they are, they really 'should' be - huh?
