Picnic in the Woods

Our couins came over today & we had our picnic in the woods!

We don't really have much of a backyard...VERY TINY....so this year, I decided I would make some more play space in the woods behind our home.  I have been trampling a path daily & snipping a lot of dead vines...but now, we have this little magical place to play.  So today, the kids headed down the path...

                        Cousin Isaiah
And found something special!

The kids quickly took their seats with squeals of delight!
And dug right in!

     Cousin Zadie
There was lots of talking & laughing as our kids REALLY do enjoy each other.
Soon, even the babies joined in.
Cousin Cal tried his first cucumber!
And Bo & Isaiah toasted..."Cheers!"
Where do they learn that? :)

And of course, Rach (my lil' sis) & I took lots of pictures!
Smile!!!
And then...the kids trampled down the path home again.

I am sure...picnics in the woods will be quite popular around here this summer :)

Come on over!!!

Oh Libbie, this is TDF. You have such a great imagination and it looks like the kids ate it all up. The woods behind our house? I wish I had a woods behind my house. All we have is a teenage girl who thinks she can sing like Christina Agulera...but she can't. Sooo Cute!

Libbie,
I seriously thought the images of the table and lanterns were from a magazine! WOW!! Have you ever considered staging as a career?! :) What a cute treat for your kids, right down to the lanterns in the trees!! What a great mom you are. Hopefully your kids will remember that kind of stuff for the rest of their lives. What precious childhood memories :)
Can you be my mom??????????
Have a wonderful day in the woods!

Okay.... Now it's official. I want to adopt you (or at least borrow you) as my daughter-in-law!!!
I guarantee you that the effort (although I kinda think that your love proves the effort is really 'effortless') is SO WORTH it when it comes to being THAT Mom who children rise and call her 'blessed'.
May the hearts of more mommy's be turned toward their children as they read about what you do 'naturally'.
Beautiful gift, beautiful children, beautiful day, beautiful mommy!
Hugs,
Deb

How adorable is this? LOVE it!! Perfect finger foods for the kids, cute pom pom toothpicks, bright colors, and a traipse through the woods to make it an "outing". Not to mention that these are some of the cutest kids ever! :-)

On the way home Isaiah said, "I hope we have a picnic in the woods EVERY time we go over to Annie's house."
That's a big switch from the kid who just wanted to stay inside to play "Cars & Princesses!"
