R & R

Yesterday, the boys were in our unfinished basement for about 5 minutes before they came up.  As Bo came toward me every step across the wood floor I could hear "sqealch, sqealch, sqealch."  It was clear he was REALLY sticking to the floor & right behind him tagged Rocco picking at something on his hands.

"Mom...we found the bug trap,"
Bo beams proudly.

Translation:
They found a sticky pad (mouse trap) from years ago & it gets better...after my in-laws fire a month ago we kept their dog in our basement for 3 weeks, we didn't know how sick she was at the time but she wouldn't eat & lost A LOT of hair.  Even though I have spent some time trying to pick up the hair there is still a lot more down there.  So apparently, Bo got the trap stuck on his feet & Rocco pulled it off.  Then Bo walked through the hair.  He had as much dog hair on him as a dog would.  It was Soooooooooooo bad!  And that glue does NOT wash off with water.  It was so bad that I couldn't stop laughing (or wincing at the nastiness) for quite sometime.  So after LOTS of scrubbing with soap & wet wipes the boys spent a looooong time in here:

So even after 4 days of the kids battling the flu,
I don't mind that Rocco woke up with croup.

It means a day of this:
R & R and lots of extra tv time...
did you know they show 4 episodes of Dora in a row?
Who knew!
Even as I type one handed Rocco is so
sweetly snoozing around my baby belly.
I like thinking of him curled up next to the babe.
So even though he is asleep on me & I have to go to the bathroom like only a pregnant woman does, AND the remote seemed to dissappear an hour ago so even though the boys are both passed out I am still watching Dora , I can look at the bright side:  I get to hold my baby all day AND I am thinking of planning a trip to Spain to try out all the Spanish I am learning from Dora!

Life is Good :)

First of all, I'm sorry about the illness in your house. Flu and croup! :( I hope everyone mends up quickly and you don't catch the flu in the process.

What a sweet photo of Rocco laying around the baby belly! I'm glad in the midst of the turmoil of life you can see that life, truly, IS good.

Those sticky traps are the worst. We had them once and one of our dogs got stuck on it. I now use the disposables that snap shut on the critter and toss both the mouse and trap.

I've also got to tell you, I love your mother (Packer fan - Woo Hoo!) Way to go, Libbie's Mom! :)

Oh my gosh! Can you believe the things they manage to get into?? Poor kiddos. It's a bummer that all this sickness is going around, but it sure is nice for cuddles and down time...and of course, when they feel better. :)

Buenos diaz!

It's like he mopped up the excess hair AND had a fun time while doing it. Yay! :)

I hope the kids feel better soon.

If I had a pretty bathroom like yours, I'd want to spend lots of time there too. I love your stories of the boy's "adventures".

No one likes that their children are sick, but when they are, they can be oh so sweet. Darling pictures.

Loved this!

A HILARIOUS story, a GORGEOUS bathtub (must be great bubble baths!), and a PRECIOUS picture (of him curled on your baby belly).

Hope y'all feel better fast.

I don't think your house knows a dull moment. I can't believe how creative your kids are!! :)
Sorry to hear some are under the weather, but glad it gave you a day of rest (sort of). Those pictures of Rocco sleeping on your baby belly are just too precious.

I hurt myself laughing at the mental image of the sticky trap and dog hair. Awwwww, bless their hearts when they don't feel good, but mom's lap is always best. Love the pics as usual. I sound like a broken record when I come to your page, but you always post the cutest photos. Hope all is well soon!

Oh, I am so excited we got to see your sweet belly and that sweet boy sleeping next to you! I just smiled at that precious photo. And it was a good thing it came after the dog hair sticky stuff story. I wish I had a better sense of humor in times like that. I would be so stressed out since I can freak out about that kind of stuff. You inspire me to lighten up and just laugh at life and the crazy things the kids do. They are not crazy kids for long! Due date fast approaching! WOW!

What an awesome picture story!! Love them all! I completely understand the feeling of a mom that wonders how her child can find so many things to get into when all along she thought that everything was put up and no messes could be made in the area that he was playing in. LOL
But your story tops them all I think! :)

Love the belly pictures too!! How cute!

I have to tell you, Libbie, that you are the master of looking on the bright side! We will miss these snuggle times someday when they are grown. Actually, I think that I will try to go snuggle with mine now too (but they are not sick so I will probably not have much luck!)...
